Min. Jessica M.

Minister Jessica Monet Kemp was born in Little Rock, Arkansas to Rev. Dr. Kenneth and Velma Willoughby Kemp. Born to a strong Christian family, Rev. Kemp grew up knowing that God is her source and strength. Accepting Christ at a young age, she developed her relationship with God through the help of her parents, extended family members, and her experiences within the Youth Department of Antioch Missionary Baptist Church. An “Antioch Baby,” Minister Jess participated in multiple youth activities, but found her voice in the Youth Choir. She served as the Director of the Youth Choir for almost ten years.
As a young adult, Minister Jess served as a volunteer for the Antioch Youth Department, a member of the Mass and New Psalm Choirs. Within the last two years, Minister Jess directed the City Wide Youth Choir for the Baptist Ministers Union City Wide Revival.
Minister Jess accepted her call to preach the gospel of Jesus Christ on October 27, 2013. On February 15, 2014, Minister Jess was licensed by her father, Rev. Dr. Kenneth R. Kemp at Antioch Missionary Baptist Church in San Antonio, Texas. Minister Jess was the first licensed female minister of Antioch.
Minister Jess graduated from the University of Houston and is currently attending Truett Theological Seminary in Waco, TX, pursuing a Masters of Divinity. She currently attends Antioch Missionary Baptist Church, Waco TX, and serves as organizer of Antioch Godly and Loving Servants (G.A.L.S) Ministry. She is a member of the Truett Black Student Association and serves as the Ministry Associate for Worship and Chapel at Baylor University. Minister Jess also works with The Girl Scouts of Central Texas’ Girls Lead Program as a Girl Scout Troop Leader and Mentor.
Minister Jess believes strongly that her calling is to “Preach the Gospel and Sing to God”. Her scripture of strength in this season is Romans 1:16-17, “For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek. For therein is the righteousness of God revealed from faith to faith: as it is written, The just shall live by faith”.
