Rev. Willie A. Spann is a native of Macon Georgia, the son of the late Willie J. Spann and late Gloria R. Spann. He is a graduate of Northeast High School and Mercer University obtaining a Bachelors Degree in Political Science. He received a Master of Public Administration Degree from the University of Phoenix in October 2012 and is currently pursuing a Masters in Christian Studies with an emphasis in Pastoral Ministry at Grand Canyon State University.
Rev Spann is a retired Army officer who served the nation for 26 years, retiring as a Lieutenant Colonel in December 2010. While serving in the military Rev. Spann accepted his call to the ministry and was licensed by the Mt. Olive Baptist Church, Clarksville, Tennessee, January 16, 1994, and ordained by the New Fellowship Missionary Baptist Church, Macon, Georgia, December 31, 1998. Over the years, Rev Spann has served in a variety of ministry positions. These positions include, Youth/Associate Minister, Great Hope Baptist Church, Richmond, VA, Associate Minister, Oak Ridge Baptist Church, Kansas City, KS, Assistant to the Pastor/Associate Minister, Little Union Baptist Church, Dumfries VA, Pastor, Sagamihara Housing Area Chapel, Camp Zama , Japan and prior to arriving in San Antonio he served as Pastor, Cartersville Baptist Church, Vienna VA.
Rev. Spann currently serves as Minister of Pastoral Care at Antioch Missionary Baptist Church. He is active in the Hope for the Hood, New Members Orientation, Vacation Bible School, and Church School ministries.
Rev. Spann is married to Minister Mignon R. Jones Spann and father to Aubrey J. Spann. His guiding scripture is, Beloved, now are we the sons of God, and it doth not yet appear what we shall be: but we know that, when he shall appear, we shall be like him; for we shall see him as he is. 1Jn 3:2
