Willie A. Spann

Rev. Willie A. Spann is a native of Macon Georgia, the son of the late Willie J. Spann and late Gloria R. Spann.  He is a graduate of Northeast High School and Mercer University obtaining a Bachelors Degree in Political Science.  Rev. Spann also holds a Master Degree in Public Administration.

 Rev. Spann is a retired Army officer who served the nation for 26 years, retiring as a Lieutenant Colonel in January 2011.  While serving in the military Rev. Spann accepted his call to the ministry and was licensed by the Mt. Olive Baptist Church, Clarksville, Tennessee on January, 16, 1994 under the leadership of Rev. Dr. James E. Victor.  He was ordained by the New Fellowship Missionary Baptist Church, Macon, Georgia on December 31, 1998 under the leadership of Rev. Dr. Ronald E. Terry Sr.   

Over the years, Rev Spann has served in a variety of ministry positions. These positions include, Youth/Associate Minister, Great Hope Baptist Church, Richmond, VA, Associate Minister, Oak Ridge Baptist Church, Kansas City, KS,  Assistant to the Pastor/Associate Minister, Little Union Baptist Church, Dumfries VA, Pastor, Sagamihara Housing Area Chapel, Camp Zama , Japan and prior to arriving in San Antonio he served as Pastor of the Cartersville Baptist Church, Vienna VA.

Rev. Spann currently, serves as the Minister of Pastoral Care at the Antioch Missionary Baptist Church.  As Minister of Pastoral Care he is responsible for providing Pastoral Care to members of the Antioch Church and their families.  In addition, Rev. Spann provides oversight of the Antioch Ambassadors Ministry (The Oliver and Shirley Toliver Home Communion Ministry) and assistant to several worship services led by Missionary ministries of the church.  He is active in the Antioch Community Together in Strength (ACTS), New Members Orientation, Vacation Bible School, and Church School ministries. Rev. Spann is a Life Member of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc.

Rev. Spann is married to Reverend Mignon R. Jones Spann, father to Aubrey J. Spann and Grandfather to Kobe Spann.   His guiding scripture is, “Beloved, now are we the sons of God, and it doth not yet appear what we shall be: but we know that, when he shall appear, we shall be like him; for we shall see him as he is. 1John 3:2.”
